What is this?

Unend.io is an infinitely generated world currently in its early developmental stages. At this point, users can walk the lands by themselves or with friends.

Explore the beaches, plants, objects and everything this expanse has scattered about in each of its biomes.

Instructions

Simply follow the green buttons to get started. Use the W, A, S, and D keys to control movement, the mouse to swivel, and click to punch.

Unend.io has been an ongoing project. It was built with the objective of bringing infinite generation and storytelling to the 2d html web canvas with server-side javascript.

As the experience grows, story elements will be added, and the tales of each adventurer will eventually unwind themselves through the wonders of this world.

Updates

Chunk Loading

Inifinite worlds are live! Most recent updates and fixes have centered around the asynchronous generation of land "chunks", which allow for the world to appear infinite.

A massive rework of the map generation code was required for this to take place because chunks needed to be generated flawlessly without creating server lag.

This experience is built from scratch, meaning it was built without any huge web frameworks. The html canvas is used in combination with javascript on the front end, with NodeJS (javascript) on the backend.
